Who says you can’t have the Carrie Bradshaw closet.

A girls closet is our most valuable treasure. It should always feel like your going into a chocolate factory and every box is a like opening a box of chocolate. Most of us sometimes have a closet and we just don’t know how to organize it. Sometimes we could barely walk in there because there is no such thing as enough clothes or shoes. When I first moved into my apartment I literally had all my clothes on the floor and I had no idea how I was going to fix my clothes in this closet, it had no filling. We usually think that it is really expensive to have an organized closet just like the ones we see in magazines. The reality is that you don’t. I remembered my sister-in-law is the best organizer I know. I called her and I said I have a really big issue lol, my closet is a mess and I have no idea how to fit my clothes in there. She said no problem all I need is around $300.00. She went to Home Depot and bought closet organizers based on the type of shoes and clothing I had. She also went to Walmart and purchased soft sided totes so that I can use them to put other accessories. I chose the black and white to make it a neutral color so my husband would also feel he had a piece in our closet lol.

Another great idea she had,  she used our shoe and store boxes for storage. One thing I also learned from my sister-in-law is that she cannot stand to have different hangers, her hangers need to be organized by colors and same type. I use wood hangers for my suits and my husbands shirts since they weigh the most and the velvet hangers for my shirts. The velvet hangers are great because they give you a lot more space in your closet. That’s what gives the closet the final touch. Another big thing I learned from her is spring cleaning. If you have a year or more without wearing something it’s time to donate it. Yes, It means it’s time to let go. I know it is difficult because we need every single piece in our closet lol but I do abide by some rule I always keep my basics, my statement pieces, and my favorites.
