How to keep your skin young and hydrated

We tend to forget especially when we are young that in order to decelerate aging, we must begin taking care of our skin at an early age. One of the must underestimated product that we must always use no matter your skin type is a good moisturizer. Our skin goes through different seasons which can affect your skin, even accelerate your aging appearance. I remember my a ha moment when I went to a skin care event at Nordstrom’s. I scheduled an appointment with one of the Kate Somerville estheticians for a facial, that day my skin changed completely.

My regular esthetician always told me that I needed to hydrate my skin and I always gave her a push back. I believed that because I was young and my skin type was mixed I didn’t need any skin products. Well I was wrong. The first product the Kate Somerville esthetician recommended was a moisturizer and let me tell you my skin never looked dehydrated again. By using the right moisturizer it helped me maintain the right skin balance. One of my main problems was acne and the appearance of some blemishes on my skin. By me changing the scrub was also a game changer. We have to remember that the skin of our face is the most delicate one. By using these scrubs you are actually contributing for more acne break outs and inflammation which can chronically damage your skin and ultimately cause aging.

However I still felt I needed some overnight cream that could help me decelerate aging. After doing some research based on price and quality I chose the Estee Lauder advanced night repair. This product I truly love. This serum hydrates your skin and when you wake up the next day your skin looks youthful and radiant. I do not use much make up in the morning for work but I always get a lot of compliments. My co workers are always asking me what skin products I use to keep my skin so radiant.

My ultimate secret is lemon. In the morning before breakfast I drink hot water with lemon, apple cider, ginger and cinnamon. Why lemon? Lemon is a good source of vitamin c, improves skin quality, weight loss, aids digestion, freshness breath and prevents kidney stones. People that consume vitamin C proven by the American Society for Clinical Nutrition have less risk of aging and dry skin. Ginger is a very powerful anti-inflammatory and cinnamon helps improve digestion, sugar levels and your immune system.
