As an adult and I know most of us probably have been in the same situation, where you would admire someone else’s make up. If I had a special event I had to get a make up artist to do mine. But I always complimented my nieces make up. I remember asking her how is it that each time you wear make up you always look flawless? She shared with me her go-to’s. I keep it very simple and as natural as possible. I start with the Maybelline BB Cream, and this I love because of its multiple usage. It’s a 8 in 1 tinted facial oil free balm that you can apply to your face without the heavy feeling you can sometimes get from certain liquid foundations. It brightens, enhances and evens your skin tone and at the same time it protects with SPF 30. Some people use it as a concealer but I am one of those that uses it as a substitute for liquid foundation. I apply it evenly on face and it leaves me feeling and looking with a smooth and fresh face. Do not get discouraged over its small size because a little goes a long way with it.
Next comes the most expensive product on the list. Now I am not a makeup guru and therefore would not ever spend hundreds on cosmetic products, but this one is absolutely worth it. It does exactly what it’s called, it’s a luminous facial powder. It’s a very lightweight facial matting powder that smoothes out your face. Every time I apply it on my face, on top of the BB Cream, my face feels like a living snapchat filter. It really does illuminate and matte your face in an absolutely wonderful and subtle way. It will be a completely guilt- free purchase. After applying the powder I proceed with the gel-serum concealer, you can brighten up your face, I only apply it underneath my eyes. It comes with a brush, I don’t really use it to blend it on my face because it’s really wet and I only use the minimal amount, I use the brush it comes with to apply two dots underneath my eyes and blend it with a dry and separate brush.
Next up is the eyeshadow. For my eyes I love sparkling colors, usually light pinks and lots of gold hues. The NYC Individual Eye palette is a small kit that comes a highlighter, eyeshadow, two crease/contouring colors all on the sparkly gold to brown spectrum. It also includes an eye primer and an amazing illuminator I apply on my tear ducts to make my eyes pop. This mini kit you can get it for no more than $7. One thing I cannot live without is mascara. You don’t need foundation or eyeshadow, all a girl need is a good mascara when she needs to walk out her house in a hurry. Urban Decay’s Perversion Mascara is amazing, it’s silk and just the dark black that I love for my eyelashes. It has a thick brush that helps you apply it evenly on your eyelashes. It stays on your eyelashes as smooth as silk giving you the long lashes without having to put on falsies and risk loosing your own. This is the second most expensive on the list.
The best for last on the list is Fenty Beauty’s Uncensored lipstick. This is my absolute all time favorite lipstick in the world. My homegirl Rihanna came through with the most sexy red lipstick I’ve ever owned. Every time I put it on I get compliments from everybody, last time I wore it the lady asked if it was MAC and I proudly said “Nope, it’s Fenty Beauty.” I call it the compliment magnet, and as soon I put it on my inner Rihanna and Cardi B comes out to play! It’s a liquid red lipstick that dries out matte, it can be a little messy to put on because it’s very lightweight and liquidity(you should know by now I’m all for lightweight cosmetics lol). There is minimal rub off if you’re drinking or eating, but like magic it seems to never actually come completely off your lips. The red tint is so potent that it’ll lightly rub off but stay on your lips for a good 8 hours. I’ve worn it to work plenty of times and I have only reapplied once and towards the end of the day. It’s a beautiful shade of red that will go well with complexion, and that is the beauty of all Fenty Beauty products. By far the best $24 you will ever spend!

How to keep your skin looking radiant,
smoother and defy age.
Like every women specially when you’re in your thirties you start getting concerned about aging. Even though I truly believe age isn’t what defines you, it is all about your spirit and how you carry yourself. I believed that as long as I have my mothers good genes I should have no problem. But we also have to consider that your type of skin matters as well. My skin type is between dry and oily. However, the minute I ate a slice of cheese or pizza the very next day I would get acne. My dermatologist always told me that due to the cold weather my skin was dehydrated. I remember one day I was invited to a Kate Somerville cosmetic event at Nordstrom. That day my skin changed. I used to wash my face everyday with these products in which the scrub was to harsh on my skin.
Then the esthetician at Nordstrom advised me to try a moisturizer to improve my skin, I would ask myself, why would I need a moisturizer if I’m young? Well, I was wrong. The esthetician recommended these three products based on my skin the Gentile Daily Wash, Nourish Daily Moisturizer and the Exfolikate. My skin seemed to be smoother and my acne minimized. Kate Somerville products have products for all skin types. However, I still felt I needed something for night repair to keep my skin radiant and slow the aging process. The reason our past generations always looked as if they were defying age was because they looked for organic ingredients and they nourished their skin at an early age. Well that missing piece of my skin puzzle was the Estee Lauder Advanced Night Repair. The minute I started using this products, my skin textured was even smoother. Everyday when I went to work my co workers would ask me why was my skin so radiant in the morning? and I have to say I have to give it to all of these products. Believe me I don’t wear foundation in the morning because I am always on a run, so I have to make sure that my skin looked fresh everyday.
Nevertheless, I kept on looking for natural ingredients that didn’t need to much of a process. Based on a research I did, I came across drinking hot water with lemon before breakfast. Did you know that these two ingredients before breakfast can promote hydration, vitamin C, improves skin quality, weight loss, digestion, freshens breath and it helps prevent kidney stones and Voila!
