Make up essentials
The only make up products you would ever need.
I love going into a cosmetic store, it is so much fun but it can also be overwhelming because you don’t know which product to choose. There are so many brands and if you’re not a makeup artist this can become a nightmare. When I go into these stores I usually ask for help and I always ask for what they would recommend are the best product. Now this can backfire on you because sometimes you can go home and realize that it was not what you were looking for.
One of the products that I’ve had the most trial and error is my liquid and pencil eyeliner. Liquid eyeliner for me is the hardest to apply and specially if you’re trying to make the line as perfect as possible until you realize your not a professional lol. Out of all the brands that I’ve tried, Stila waterproof liquid eyeliner is the one that allows me to make a much more precise line because of its marker like tip. It’s so precise that even my daughter can do her eye line and she still would look like a professional lol. Other issues almost everyone has is when we are trying to apply the eyeliner and we make a mistake or as the day goes by the liquid would smudge. But not this one ladies. It is so easy to take off and it lasts all day. I use a liquid eyeliner for my eyelid and for my lower rim I use Mac black ice pro longwear eye liner. I like this one the most because it is waterproof and I need eyeliners that are intense black otherwise it will not show on my lid.
The second product I’ve struggled with is my mascara because I have light and really small eyelashes. I love eyelash extensions but the maintenance can be expensive and you have to make sure you are at the studio at least twice a month. Nevertheless, if you decide to remove them, you loose your own eyelashes so you will have none until yours grow back. Ladies it is not a pretty look, no mascara can help you there lol. I finally found one that can get me as close as possible and it is the Diorshow mascara. This mascara does some really nice miracles it gives me a cat eye look, lengthens, thickens and curves my lashes.
I always wondered how makeup artist make celebrities eyeshadow so sparkly. I tried eye glitter and all types of eyeshadows but since I have such fair skin no matter how much I use, I could not get the effect I wanted. Until I found the Ciate precious metal eyeshadow. It has a primer which you apply first so that you can get a smoother and better result. It helps your shadow pop, sticks to your lid and gives you the same finish as glitter. I wanted a pink eyeshadow that would show the color palette on my skin. I found the perfect match after an extensive search lol. The Dior fusion mono eyeshadow it is a mousse gel shadow which gives an illuminating metallic look and blends easily to your skin. It is the first time I’ve had a light pink shadow actually work.
I had another issue and it was my blush. I’ve tried different brands and I never had the results I was looking for specially if it was pink. I found the most amazing blush, the Dior rosy glow. When I was first recommended this blush by the salesperson I was skeptical because I thought it would make me look like my daughters dolls lol. She highly recommended it and she was right, it blends really nicely to your skin. It was the first time in my life I actually looked like I had blush. I’ve replaced all my blushes and now I only use this one because no matter what color makeup I have, it blends with the palettes. When I want a glowy look before applying the blush I add the benefit highlighter Watt’s up! It is a celebrity makeup artist must have. It helps highlight any area that you would like to draw attention to. It gives a champagne glow cream powder look.
This one took me a long time to consider because I was never much of a fan of too much makeup; I always wondered why my niece who is in college look so great. I decided to give it a try and I went on a mission for foundation lol. The first product I apply is the Smashbox photo finish primer. If you have never used foundation like me before you probably ask why do I need so many products? The primer soothes the skin, it helps the foundation look better and last longer. For foundation I use Smashbox liquid halo which has spf 15 and it gives you that photo finish look. What I like about this one the most is that it evens out your skin, blurs all those imperfections and gives you a luminous look.
I still felt as if my makeup did not have the finish I was looking for. Until my niece told me I was missing powder to seal the foundation lol. After some research I chose the Tarte powder for many reasons but most importantly it is vegan. It is an amazonian clay which makes your skin smooth, translucent and it reduces shine.
Last but not least my everyday lip color. I will not leave my house without these two lip colors. We go through so many seasons and are lips also get affected. I use Dior addict because it has a hydrating coat, it also gives you shine and has a high impact color effect. I also add the Dior lip maximizer, I tell you ladies the first time I tried this lip gloss I was mesmerized. It gives you instant pump volume and you feel the soft vanilla mint scent pump your lips.
